So, this may not be our most vegan friendly Simple Sunday recipe, but it is delicious and makes for a great BBQ. Asian beef kabobs are super easy to grill up, make great apps, and are always a crowd pleaser.

Here’s what you need:

1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak

1 red onion

1/2 c coconut aminos (or use tamari to taste—it's saltier, so start with 1/4 c)

1 Tbs minced garlic (about 5 cloves worth)

1 Tbs grated fresh ginger

1 tsp grated orange zest

1/4 c sesame oil

1/4 c avocado oil

1/4 c brown sugar

1/4 c sriracha

2 Tbs sesame seed

Sliced scallions for garnish

And here’s what you do:

Cut steak into 1-inch cubes. Combine marinade ingredients, aminos, and sesame seeds in a large bowl. Add the steak and toss to coat; marinate at least two hours, or up to overnight. If you’re using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes before cooking. When you’re ready to cook, preheat grill to medium-high heat. Cut onion into large chunks and thread beef cubes onto skewers, alternating with onion. Grill until meat is cooked to desired level (8-10 minutes depending on grill heat) turning occasionally. Garnish with scallions, and additional sesame seeds if you'd like.

Pairs well with a Sweet Thursday ginger beer.

Enjoy, and happy grilling season!
