Cocktails with Carrie’s: our take on the Dark 'n' Stormy

Who doesn’t love a good tiki drink? Born in Bermuda in 1860 and appropriately named after the hues of a post-storm Caribbean sky, this classic cocktail gets a kick with Carrie’s ginger beer as a replacement for the traditional Gosling’s. Not only does it add a subtle pineapple note, but it also lowers the sugar content. Careful though, this version will be a bit boozier than the original.

Here’s what you need:

2 oz. dark rum (we recommend Gosling’s Black Seal, if you want to go the traditional route).

3 oz. Sweet Thursday Carrie’s ginger beer

1/2 oz. lime juice

1 drink umbrella (if you’re feeling fancy).

Here’s what you do:

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Add rum.

  2. Pour in ginger beer and lime juice. Stir.

  3. Garnish with a lime wedge and your drink umbrella.

  4. Enjoy!

From our Sweet Thursday Family to yours,

Cheers!
